BridgeU raises $2.5m

publication date: Nov 30, 2015

BridgeU, a London-based start-up developing university preparation tools for school leavers, has closed a $2.5m funding round led by Octopus Investments, with participation from Fresco Capital, Seedcamp, Jonnie Goodwin and Deborah Quazzo. This investment - which will be used to expand operations - comes a year after the company raised $400k seed funding as winner of the Berlin Seedcamp.

Founded in 2013 by Lucy Stonehill and Hywel Carver, BridgeU provides a SaaS-based adaptive university preparation & application tool, using algorithms and machine learning to match students with suitable HE courses, and help them through the preparation and application process. The company sells its platform into schools and builds a profile around each student that enables them to evaluate their job prospects in relation to the courses available.
