SPARK Ventures, the AIM listed technology VC company that invested £2.4m in UniServity in March 2007, is in early stage discussions with an international investor, which may lead to an investment of between £15m and £20m. The investment would give SPARK Ventures access to partners who could provide access to investment in high growth international markets. SPARK Ventures manages £225m on behalf of major institutional investors, leading UK universities, and three quoted venture capital trusts. UniServity’s results for the year ending 31 July 2007 have not yet been filed at Companies House. UniServity claims that its cLc Learning Platform is now used by one in five secondary schools in England and 1,500 schools globally.
