CEL and QIA to merge

The government is reducing the number of educational non-departmental bodies through the merger of the Centre for Excellence in Leadership (CEL) and the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) with effect from 1 April 2008. The new organisation for the FE and Skills sector will be chaired by Ruth Silver, Principal of Lewisham College and will be led by CEO Ioan Morgan CBE, Principal of Warwickshire College. The new organisation will be responsible for supporting strategic change, leadership development, quality improvement and self-regulation within the FE and Skills sector.
