Outline planning permission has been granted by Dorset Council for the £33m BSF project to redevelop Queen Elizabeth’s School in Wimbourne.
The design of the school was undertaken as a collaboration between Feilden Clegg Bradley Architects and Mouchel Parkman. Selected as one of three schools by the DfES as a Sustainability Demonstration project, the new structures will use a high proportion of energy from renewable sources such as biomass boilers. Queen Elizabeth’s School will also be an extended community school opening from 8am until 6pm all year round. Dorset Council should have completed the review of the full planning application by early 2007.
